Chapter 17 part 2- I am ashamed
───※ ·❆· ※───
Ban Hua honestly shook her head: "Your Majesty, JunJun lacks nothing."
"Seeing you, makes me think of my uncle who bravely fought on the battlefield," Yun Qing sighed and continued. "He taught me archery when I was a kid. I didn't think ...."
1st-Elder Princess's Fu-ma was a well-known military general. Generations of generals came from Ban-Jia, who worked hard for people, but unfortunately... The ministers present glanced at Ban-Huai. The famous name of Ban-Jia was ruined by Ban-Huai.
Ban Huai noticed that some looked at him, and straightened his waist. It was useless to be jealous. He just had an amazing father who was destined to live forever!
Seeing that Ban Huai was not ashamed, all the ministers shook their heads in their hearts. Rotten wood could not be carved, Ban-Jia could be considered as over. (1)
"Your Majesty, the archery of JunJun was also taught by grandfather," Ban Hua said with a big smile. "Grandfather said that if I were born a man, I would definitely be a powerful general under your command."
Emperor Yun Qing looked at her. The petite and quiet girl really couldn't be connected with a beard-faced fierce general. The more he thought about it, the more he found this picture amusing. He couldn't help but laugh out loud, "Okay, The general Ban has taught well."
Everyone present: ...
A good little girl, taught to be willful, saying that using a whip to slap someone is okay. There is no woman's gentleness on her body. Wasn't it the waste of a good face given by her parents?
Your Majesty, is this praise or harm?
Regardless of whether the emperor had two meanings or not, Ban Hua was happy to be praised. She bowed to the Emperor in gratitude:"Thank you, Your Majesty, for praise. I am embarrassed to hear the compliments."
" Aunt is the person I respect, General Ban is also someone I respect. As their only granddaughter, I should take good care of you. I feel ashamed whenever I think of not taking good care of you." Emperor Yunqing sighed again and continued, "I even heard someone taunted you because your title was not high enough. After I heard about this, I don't know what face I would have to see my aunt in the future."
The people thought they heard wrongly, Jun Jun even hit Tanhua-Imperial-Scholar, who would dare to offend her?
Wang De stood next to Emperor Yun Qing, never changing his expression from beginning to end.
As a servant of His Majesty, he naturally told His Majesty what he saw. He could not hide it, and naturally, he could not add fuel to it.
Kangning Junzhu, who standing with other women, felt her cheeks heat up painfully when she heard His Majesty's words. His Majesty's every word seemed to slap her face.
"Princess," Shi Feixian beside her supported her, "Are you all right?" she asked.
Kangning reluctantly smiled and shook her head.
Shi Feixian loosened her hand and said with a smile: "That's good."
She looked at Ban Hua who was standing in front of the throne, adjusted her sleeves, and withdrew her gaze little by little.
"Your Majesty..." Ban Hua hesitated, "No one bullied me, don't need to feel sorry."
Five years later, even if someone bullies her, no one would be able to save her.
"Good," Emperor Yunqing smiled feeling relieved,
"Although you are only my niece, but in my heart, you are no different from my daughter."
Count Zhongping grew uncomfortable when he heard Emperor Yunqing's words. The bad blood between their family and Ban's family was the talk of the town, discussed by many people in the capital. No wonder their Xi family had been facing problems for the past two years. I am afraid that the emperor was annoyed by them.
He really didn't understand how his obedient son eloped with a woman in the brothel, making their family and Ban's family turn against each other.
Until now, Count Zhongping was still wondering whether it was better to have a wilful and extravagant daughter-in-law, or as it is now, to have his son's reputation disgraced, his eyes disabled, the Xie family and the Ban family turned against each other, and also not have a favorable impression in front of Emperor.
Probably... He would rather have a wilful and extravagant daughter-in-law to pay for it.
At least this daughter-in-law had a respectable grandmother and His Majesty's favor, which was definitely a good thing for a family with an insufficient background.
I only hate my son for not being able to live up to it, and now it is useless to even regret it.
"I'm ashamed. I want to make it up to you."
The courtiers present looked at the emperor blankly, why did he have to be so roundabout, didn't he just want to promote this savage and wayward Ban Junjun to Junzhu? In the end, they were just the titles of a woman, and promoting or demoting did not affect the government at all, So, there was no fluctuation in their hearts.
Ban Hua tilted his head. His Majesty wants to compensate her?
Is it to find her a handsome husband?
"My uncle was the pillar of the country when he was alive, and my aunt treated me like a mother would. Her granddaughter is like my half-daughter. I think that only the title of Junzhu would be suitable for my half daughter." Emperor Yun Qing knocked on the handrail of the throne, "The daughter of Jingting Hou, my half-daughter, who bears elegance lie her grandmother is bestowed the title of Junzhu."
Ban Hua was stunned for a long time before remembering to thank Emperor Yunqing.
However, His Majesty just said that except for the title of Junzhu, no other titles are worthy of her. Then, did her previous titles of the "Xiang Jun" and princess"Jun-Jun" insult her?
notes:
1.Translation: Rotten wood cannot be carved.
Meaning: Something that is already bad cannot be made better, or prettier. You cannot change the true nature of such things. An English equivalent would be: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."
T/n :
I have the chapters ready. I will post about two tomorrow.
And Hua Hua , do you really want a handsome husband so much?
Although you are my cousin in my heart you are no different from a daughter
ReplyDeleteShouldnt it be neice instead of cousin as the emperor is ban hua's uncle
I've been thinking this for a while but in a lot of ways the temperament of Ban Hua's family is more suitable than Kangning's for being ~close~ blood relatives of an emperor, especially of an emperor who's sons are... not very impressive.
ReplyDeleteFun to be around, not even remotely a threat to your reign, and they act as checks to people who are: basically they're the whole package.
